Romantic places to kiss in Seattle

I like to collect books, and someday I would love to have an actual library in my home. Equipped with a ladder, a comfy chair, blankets and of course a coffee maker. My book collection is far from what I want it to be ten years from now, but hey you have to start somewhere right? One of the books I have in my possession at the moment is titled, "The Best Places to Kiss in the Northwest". Don't ask me where I got it because to be honest I can't remember. It's cool though because it lists out all the fabulous and romantic places to visit and stay for that special weekend away, from boutique hotels, to wineries to major metropolitan areas like my favorite city SEATTLE! I'm going to share with you some ideas from the book and some personal favorites of my own. So for those of you looking for a romantic weekend in the Emerald City, I hope this helps!

  • The Alexis Hotel- what I like about this hotel is that not only is it beautiful but they have an Author's Suite fully equipped with a library and fireplace! They have a spa, and offer daily wine tastings. Something else kind of cool if you're into scotch is that they have a varied scotch collection of over about 60 different kinds.
  • Inn at the Market- this is a great place to stay because you're in the heart of the city and right by Pike's Place Market. The Inn at the Market has a great Parlor Suite which is naturally a great choice of room for any romantic occasion. I also hear that their rooftop has quite the fabulous view of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains, a perfect place to steal a kiss or four. I don't know how much more romantic you can get with a cinematic background like that!
  • The Edgewater- this is of course a great choice because hello, The Beatles stayed there! If you want to stay in the actual room they did and fish out of your window just like they did, request room 272. If you stay at The Edgewater you have to make sure to request a room with a water view, otherwise it isn't worth it. Some rooms have private balconies, again a great picturesque place to give your guy or gal a smooch.
  • Four Seasons- the Four Seasons Hotel is probably kind of an obvious choice, it's right on First, near Pike Place and is a fabulous five-star hotel. It is contemporary and modern in design, boasts floor to ceiling windows, two person bathtubs and get ready for it TV's embedded in the mirrors in the bathrooms.
  • Canlis- this should again be an obvious choice, Canlis is known not only for their delicious food, but for their stunning architecture and amazing 15,000 bottle cellar- Canlis has been around for over 50 years so you know they know how to enhance a perfect romantic evening. While there you need to make sure you order the Peter Canlis Prawns and their Wagyu Tenderloin. Canlis definitely comes with a hefty price tag especially if you're looking for their full on dinner experience, however it is well worth it.
  • The Georgian- inside the beautiful Fairmont Olympic Hotel is The Georgian. Probably one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Seattle, it's like eating out of a fairy tale. Inside the room are spectacular chandeliers, huge windows and beautiful decor. Definitely a place where a girl can put on her tiara and a boy can wear his bow tie tuxedo.
  • The Pink Door- this is a really fun and yummy choice in dining, if you like Italian-American food with some zest this is the place to go. If you have dinner there on a Saturday night they have exciting entertainment like tarot card readers, trapeze artists, and even burlesque shows!
  • Via Tribunali- if you like pizza this is the place to go! With serval locations in Seattle, one of my personal favorites being Queen Anne where it's bright and cozy. They have hand tossed pizzas, menus in Italian and many of their ingredients are from Italy! So if you're looking to enhance amore go here!
Places to Kiss
  • Atop the Space Needle
  • The Olympic Sculture Park
  • Golden Gardens Park
  • Alki Beach
  • Gasworks Park
  • Seacrest Park
  • Kiss in the rain, the rain is what Seattle is known for, this one can be done almost anywhere
  • Catch a movie at Pacific Place
  • Attend an Opera or Ballet at McCaw Hall
  • Catch a concert at The Key Arena
  • Check out The Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall
  • Enjoy a musical at The 5th Avenue Theatre
Don't Forget
It wouldn't be a romantic weekend without flowers, so if you're a guy make sure you go down to Pike Place and pick up the biggest and most bright bouquet of flowers you can find! Champagne always helps, chocolate, good music or anything else that is special to you and your significant other. It's not necessarily about the decadence and going over the top, it's really about the thought and care that you put into your evening or special weekend that will make it memorable.

  1. I love Via Tribunali too...I am pretty sure it was Led Zeppelin you are thinking about for the Edgewater though. Not the Beatles. Very famous incident.

  2. We're headed to Seattle in a few weeks and staying at the Alexis. Would love more restaurant recs!

Btw, what a fab blog...glad I came caross it!
