Boys: The Hipster

The hipster.I saw one last week, a boy who was uber cute and dressed in a way that I would like to call "A Hipster". You might be asking yourself, what is a hipster anyway? Hipsters can be found in major cosmopolitan areas such as Seattle. Hipsters have a love for art and music, appreciate independent thought and I think are either into photography or play in instrument. Hipsters aren't as much about mainstream labels and consumerism, they go beyond that- they have a much more distinct fashion sense about them. Hipsters embrace their own style, they can be seen wearing vintage clothes, tight fitting jeans, hoodies, vests, hats, thick rimmed glasses and old school sneakers.
Words that come to mind when I see/think about a Hipster...
  • Edgy
  • Intellectual
  • Smart
  • Independant
  • Creative
  • Good looking
  • Artsy
  • Indie Rock
  • Liberal
  • I like

Me again

I'm definitely addicted to and very much enjoying the perks of social media. It's been so much fun to use it as a tool to connect with amazing and inspiring people, and interact with all the brands I love. Recently I became acquainted with a group of some very fabulous social media tweeps.
Each one of them is unique and just downright awesome, so if you have Twitter, you'll want to make sure you're following them.
I never turn down the opportunity to enjoy great company in Seattle, I get to dress up after all! Friday night we all met up for happy hour at Contour downtown, which let me tell you was fantastic! Yummy drinks and very tasty food! I ordered their mac and cheese, and it was TO DIE for. After drinks and food, we headed down to the Argosy Cruise Terminal for a tweet-up that was on a boat! #SeaTweet. I very much enjoyed schmoozing and hanging out with fellow Twitter lovers like myself. While on the boat I got to hang out with the ever fabulous and lovely @nicoleshema (it would be in your best interest to follow her as well).

And then after #SeaTweet we headed back up to 1st and kicked it at the Hotel 1000's restaurant BOKA. Our night consisted of laughter, smiles, great conversation and everyone trying on Matthew's glasses!

Delicate Soles

baby your feet.
high heels + sore toes = delicate soles

There have been many nights where I've been out in the lovely city of Seattle when I've chosen to wear high heels. Very high heels mind you. There comes a point in every girls night when she wants nothing more than to take off her high heels and allow her feet to breathe and rest. How could one do that though? A girl doesn't want to walk around the city barefoot, thats just gross. That's where something very special and life changing comes into the equation, world I would like to introduce you to Delicate Soles. They're rollable flats, so little and compact, yet they're uber comfortable and very chic. They roll right up and fit into your purse, great for being on the go! With your Delicate Soles you receive a shoe box for them to live in your closet, and perfect and portable totes to store your flats in and then to also store your heels when you're not wearing them. They come in an assortment of colors so there's no need to fret that they won't match with your DKNY blazer, BCBG dress, or your Gibson top. They go with everything! You'll find them in lipstick red, onyx, pixie dust pink, starlight silver and a couple more designs that aren't out just yet. But lucky for you, my fellow readers, I got an exclusive sneak peak on their new designs, they are a fabulous zebra print with red accents and the crocodile pattern I mentioned, exciting right?
A good friend Elliott (@Ell79) was kind enough to hook me up with a couple pair of Delicate Soles. I received lipstick red and this amazing crocodile pattern with a fun yellow accent. I knew it was love at first sight when I tried them on. There are three sizes, and they definitely hold true to their recommendations, I was kind of nervous about which size to choose (I'm an 8.5) I got medium and they're the perfect size. There have already been several occasions when they have come in handy- what I love is that it almost feel like I'm walking barefoot! Delicate Soles are definitely a great investment that will yield a very high return.

Every fashionista should own a pair, I don't recommend leaving home without them.

Delicate Soles, Inc. is based out of Denver, Colorado. The two founders Quinn and Jessica Martinez started Delicate Soles for the sole purpose to help women save their toes from painful high heels.
Be sure to follow Delicate Soles on Twitter and Facebook too!

All we need is love

Today's post is simple, it's about love. Love is important.

There are a few things in life to me that are certain, I will always drink coffee, from Starbucks of course, I will always be smitten with Michael Buble, and that not a lot more matters other than LOVE. I'm sitting in bed listening to The Afters song "Beautiful Love" and it got me thinking. When all is said and done, regardless of wealth or material things you posses without love, I don't know that it's entirely possible to feel complete and fulfilled.

Make love not war. Make sure you tell at least one person today that you love them. I don't think people say it enough. Happy Friday too by the way, I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.

Mollie in Atlanta

@MollieinAtlanta how does that sound?  It fits right? Last week I had the opportunity to travel for work down to Atlanta, Georgia. So I got to be Mollie in Atlanta for a weekend. I'm really fortunate in that I have a fun job that does allow me to travel every now and then. Atlanta by far has been my favorite trip! I knew I was going to fall in love with the south even before I got there. Everyone (friends, family and Twitter friends) warned me that I was going to love it. And they were right. People there are friendly, nice, and polite, chivalry does exist in south! I loved hearing people's accents and admiring the beautiful weather and sunshine. I was called many things, like "darlin'" "suga" "honey" "sweetheart" etc etc. People just don't say those things in Seattle. I guess it's because maybe here people take offense to it? I don't know? Anyway, in Atlanta hardly did I have to open my door to anything or pull my chair out to sit down or get up. I loved it. Oh and should I mention that it was conveniently spa week last week in Atlanta? So there were all kinds of specials on spa services. You better believe that I capitalized on that! I never say no to a day or afternoon at the spa.

While I was there I was told to check out a few places, one of which was the Georgia Aquarium. Interestingly enough if you didn't already know, the Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the whole world! Can you believe that? They have a huge tank big enough to house two whole whale sharks. Bananas I tell you!
My hotel was downtown Atlanta, I stayed at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center. The hotel was great, the location was perfect, near great restaurants like McCormicks and Shmicks and Ruth's Chris, and The World of Coke.
I stayed on the top floor in their north tower that had a lovely view of Centennial Park. Since I was in CNN Center it was only fitting to take the CNN Studio Tour. For those of you that aren't aware I have a big interest in Journalism especially broadcast (hence my bio) so naturally thought it appropriate to take advantage on being in the same building as CNN. Atlanta is their world headquarters, they employ over 3,000 people in that building. Cool huh?
No trip or weekend would be a #Molliein- 'where I am at that moment' kind of weekend without a little bit of shopping thrown in the mix. I took The Marta, Atlanta's public transportation system down to Lenox Square Mall. I died there basically, they had everything from Victoria's Secret, David Yurman, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and Burberry. I ended up in Burberry, met one of their amazing associates Karl, who helped me pick out a new purse. It's a nice big shopper that will fit everything I need into it, it even came with a clutch, perfect for going out! I've written a couple times about Burberry and how timeless and elegant I believe their brand to be, so it only made sense to welcome one of their purses into my life.

In sum, the trip was amazing, I got to shop, relax, sight see, meet new people, eat great food, and schmooze. Atlanta and the south left me so smitten that I may have requested information on graduate programs down there. Visiting CNN, sitting at a news desk and checking out their studios was quite inspiring.

Red in Seattle

I've decided that I need to add more red to my closet. Red is bold, red is powerful, red is exciting. All great adjectives to describe a fashionable and independent woman. What's clever about the color red is that you make a statement when you wear it without actually putting in much effort. Red can be worn any day, any time, anywhere.

Burberry is classic, elegant and timeless. I've written in a previous post about how great of an investment a Burberry scarf is. Well while I was in Atlanta this weekend, I spent time in the Burberry store and was helped by a wonderful gentleman named Karl. Who happened to help me pick out a new purse but that's a different story. I saw this wrap and became obsessed. How beautiful and perfect is it for fall?
