Going to a party?

If you're invited to a dinner party my motto is to never go empty handed- it's best to ask if there is anything you can bring. If your host or hostess asks you to bring something, bring it. If they tell you not to bring anything don't believe them. It's always polite and gracious to bring with you flowers or maybe a nice bottle of wine for your host or hostess.

After a lovely evening I think it's a good idea to follow up with a thank you note (see my previous post on how to write a thank you note). Try to send it within a week or so of your dinner/event. People remember kind gestures like that. They will be more prone to do something nice for you again if you show that you are appreciative.
